From Patient to Advocate: Leisa Taylor’s Mission to Help Others Access Life-Changing Treatment

May 22, 2026

July 24 Event in Hampton Bays to Benefit the NYPC Foundation

When Leisa Taylor received her brain tumor diagnosis two weeks before her wedding, she never imagined it would become a turning point—not just for her own life, but for her calling.

After emergency surgery and complications that kept her hospitalized for a month, Leisa faced a difficult choice about her future care. When her tumor began growing again, she was referred to the New York Proton Center and discovered proton therapy—a precision treatment that would give her back her life.

“My tumor is now inactive. I get to live normally,” Leisa says. “I’m grateful every day for the care I received.”

Beyond Treatment: A New Purpose

But gratitude alone wasn’t enough for Leisa. She wanted to give back.

As a former dancer, she found healing through movement and founded LTMovement, a Pilates practice she now teaches across the Hamptons, both in-person and virtually. What started as personal recovery became a mission to help others find resilience and strength.

Today, Leisa is taking her commitment further. On July 24, she will host a charity Pilates mat class at Canoe Place Inn in Hampton Bays, with proceeds supporting the NYPC Foundation.

Event proceeds will help ensure every eligible patient has access to life-changing proton therapy technology, regardless of financial circumstances.
